Clustering / Networking / Partnerships

 

 

         Women's Studies Centre functions in collaboration with other departments of the university, with other colleges and universities, with universities outside the country and with International Organizations such as Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, WHO & British Council and National NGOs such as M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation. The Centre also collaborates with National Institutes such as National Institute for Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR). It also works in close collaboration with the District Administration. 

1.   With other Departments of the University: WSC has strong partnerships with other Departments within the university including the Department of Home Science Extension Education, Department of Special Education, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, National Service Scheme. All the Departments participated through research paper contributions to the national symposium on “Access and Participation of Women and Girls to Nutrition & Health, Education and Training, Science and Technology”. WSC partnered with Life Long Learning, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women to conduct the Social Entrepreneurship Training Programme; and with the EDP Cell on Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

2.   With other universities: WSC has collaboration with other universities such as: Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and Madurai Kamaraj University.

3.   With Universities outside the country: Collaboration was established with Oregon State University & University of Minnesota, Judge Business School, Cambridge University.

4.   With Colleges outside the university: The Director for Women’s Studies presented a paper on Young Women viz- a- viz Science & Technology at a UGC sponsored National conference on the Advancement of Women in Science and Technology organized on August 5 and 6, 2014, by the Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli. The Director was also invited to speak on various aspects of gender and entrepreneurship issues at the PSG Management Institute, PSG College of Arts & Science, PSG Krishnammal College and Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore.

5.   NGOs: WSC has organized collaborative programmes with the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Dindigul and Coimbatore Districts and Tulsi Trust, Isha Foods and Spices.

6.    International NGOs: Collaboration was established with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition & the British Council.

7.    UN Organizations such as WHO has invited the Director for strategy formulation meetings.

8.    With National Institutes such as National Institute for Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR). Director is a member of the sexual Harassment Complaints Committee of the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding.

9.   WSC is collaborating with the District Administration for development of an application for women entrepreneurs. 

10.  WSC has developed a network with entrepreneurs, business organizations such as FICCI (FLO), CODISSIA, WOBEDA, and the state government departments which support entrepreneurship such as Tamil Nadu, Corporation for development tof Women Ltd. (TNCDW).
