Project Summary:This project proposes an enhanced shopping assistant application designed to empower partially sighted individuals. Leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) technology, the application facilitates independent shopping by enabling users to access detailed product information through barcode scanning. Upon scanning a product barcode with their smartphone or tablet camera, users can view product details and a 3D model overlay onto the real world through the AR interface. Developed using Unity and Vuforia, the application aims to improve accessibility and promote greater independence for partially sighted individuals by providing a richer and more informative shopping experience.
