Functions of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) performs the following functions to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up culture within the institution:
- Conducting various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities as prescribed by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) in a time-bound manner.
- Identify, recognize and reward innovative ideas and projects developed by students and faculty members, and disseminate success stories to inspire the academic community.
- Organizing periodic workshops, seminars, expert talks and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, industry professionals and innovators, while creating a strong mentor pool to guide student innovators.
- Organizing hackathons, idea competitions, innovation challenges and mini-project contests in collaboration with industries to encourage creative problem-solving and industry-oriented innovation.
- Facilitating the development of innovative solutions and support students in transforming ideas into prototypes, products and start-up ventures.
- Promoting awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), technology transfer and commercialization of innovations.
