Tangible Outcomes
Reduced Energy Consumption
Solar and LED installations significantly reduced electricity usage and operational costs.
- Solar - 270kw available - generating (average of 22,000 units /month) 2,64,000 kw-hr per year hence saving of Rs.31,68,000/ year
- LED lights- replaced with 95% with LED lights hence saving energy by 50% ie. Saves 3,00,000kw-hr per year
Clean Fuel Production
Biogas plants generated eco-friendly fuel, reducing dependence on LPG and contributing to waste recycling.
- Biogas Plant - from mess hall only 15m3 of gas every day, used for boiling water (100 degree C) in the mess 67,00,000 Kilo Joules of energy is being generated
Efficient Waste Management
Proper segregation, recycling, and disposal minimized environmental pollution.
Total volume of paper and plastic produced per year - 300 kg
- Total volume of paper and plastic produced per year -280 kg
- Total volume organic waste produced per year – 7 tons (per day 20 kg hence 7000 kg)
- Total volume organic waste produced per year – 7000 kg
- Total volume in organic waste treated per year – 50kg (plastic shredded and used for paver blocks, shredding machine present in civil department, campus II
1. The paper waste is disposed using Corporation facility
2. Organic waste such as food waste and leaf waste are utilised by food convertor and converted to manure
3. Sanitary pads are collected and disposed using smart bins
Improved Water Availability
Rainwater harvesting, recharge systems, and wastewater recycling ensured sustainable water supply
Limited vehicle entry and increased use of bicycles lowered campus pollution levels.
- Availability of battery vehicle for mobility inside the campus
- Usage of E vehicle by staff members and students
Enhanced Green Cover
Landscaping improved air quality, shade, temperature regulation, and biodiversity
- Total area on campus covered in forest vegetation used for -15,000 m2
- Total area on campus covered in planted vegetation – 9,746 m2
