About ICC
Institute Innovation Council (IIC) is an Initiative of Ministry of Education’s through its Innovation Cell (MIC), in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) launched in 2018. This initiative was established to systematically foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up development within Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs), thereby strengthening the innovation ecosystem across the country.
In line with this National initiative, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women was established during the academic year 2018–19, following the guidelines of MIC and AICTE.
The primary role of the IIC is to engage a large number of students, faculty members, and staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities. These include ideation, problem-solving, proof-of-concept development, design thinking, awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), project management, and support for pre-incubation and incubation initiatives. Through these activities, the Council strives to nurture an innovation-driven mindset and establish a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem within the institution.
