Other Scholarships
The residential and non-residential scholarships to Backward Class and Most Backward Class offered by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Government of India Scholarships to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other scholarships available are listed below:
- Government of India Adi-Dravida Welfare Residential and Non-Residential Scholarships to students, provided their parents’ income is less than ` 2,50,000/- per annum.
- Backward Class Scholarships to students whose parents’ income is below 2,50,000/- per annum.
Note: Students will be eligible and recommended for any of these scholarships only if they put in the statutory minimum of attendance for scholarships (i.e. 75%) and if they do not participate in undesirable activities
Following are the other scholarships which are available for the eligible students and forwarded by the University :
- Chief Minister Award Scholarship from the District Adi Dravidar Welfare Officer, Coimbatore for SC / ST candidates who are getting higher marks in +2 examination.
- Prize Money Award from the Director of Adi Dravidar Welfare, Chennai for SC / ST candidates who are getting above 60% marks in UG / PG degree examination without arrears in 3 years for UG and 2 years for PG Courses.
- Award of Postmatric Scholarship for Minority students from Govt. of Tamilnadu, Chennai.
- Tamilnadu Educational Trust Scholarship for eligible candidates from the Tamilnadu Educational Trust, Chennai.
- Financial assistance to the Children of Beedi workers / Mine workers from the Govt. of India.
- Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Department of Social Welfare and Women Empowerment - Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme. (Puthumaipenn Scholarship)
- Govt. of India SC / ST Ph.D. Full time Scholarship.
The eligible SC / ST, OBC, PwD students should submit their scholarship form for the academic year by September for processing scholarship to SC/ST, OBC, PwD etc. each year.
