The purpose of a Library is to support teaching, learning and research in the education Institutions, by developing and promoting access to information resources. The Library and its Services provide vital support for students, researchers and staff, complementing academic activities. Sri Guru Maharaj Library for Self Finance Programmes in campus II was established in June 2018 to serve the above purposes.

School of Education Library
Library: Resources, Facilities and Services

School of Education Library was established in the year 2003 in Campus II to meet the diversified needs of the Teachers and Student Teachers of the departments of Education, Physical Education and Special Education. The Library is housed in the ground floor of the School of Education and its area is 1250 sq ft. Open access and colon Classification is being adopted.At a time 50 users can be accommodated. There are 5 systems for accessing the internet resources and e-resources. Library is a member of eSS (e-Shodhsindhu Consortium), DELNET (Developing Library Network), NDL (National Digital Library) and Bookshare.org (Accessible online Library for persons with print disabilities).

Welcome to the School of Engineering Library

The Avinashilingam School of Engineering Library was established in 1996. The library has a carpet area of 10,064 sq.ft of which 5026 sq.ft has been provided for reading area 206 students can be accommodated in the reading space, Which aims to provide information services and access to print and e-resources to support the scholarly informational needs of the student and faculty community. The fully computerized library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and electronic journals, electronic books, on-line databases, CD-ROMs, audio video cassettes and project reports. Open Access System is being followed to access the books and journals

The base for the library, the knowledge hub of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, had been laid down by Dr.T.S.Avinashilingam, founder of this institution, a distinguished educationist, and Dr. Rajammal P. Devadas, the first Vice-Chancellor and the spearhead of women’s education, recognized the importance of the Library in university education and established one (along with this Institution) in 1958.

Overview

Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed to be University) was established under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 and recognized under the Category "A" by MHRD. The Institute has been re-accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC declared on 4th March 2019. Furthermore, the Institute was ranked 1st in the ATAL RANKING OF INSTITUTIONS ON INNOVATION ACHIEVEMENTS (ARIIA-2020) in the Special category of Higher Educational Institutions Exclusively for Women (Only from Govt. and Govt. Aided Category) on 18.08.2020 and was ranked 75th in the 2020 NIRF.

"Avinashilingam Centre for International Education” (ACIE), as a nodal center of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, envisages bringing international standard education to the doorsteps of its students in an interconnected world on campus, and beyond, besides promoting culture cum value-infused Indian Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD) to international students. ACIE also shall endeavor to provide all the possible and requisite support to International students enrolled in Avinashilingam Institute.
