Finance Officer
The Finance Office in the Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women plays vital role in maintaining the University Funds, which may be both Revenue & Capital including Grants and Contributions
Finance Section is receiving all the money due to the university and making payments due by the University and keeps records for that. So also, Finance section is maintaining all the accounts of the University

Dr.(Mrs).K.Sambath Rani, is the Professor & Head, Dept of Special Education, School of Education, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed University), Coimbatore- 641043, Tamil Nadu. With 30 years of service in the field of Special Education, she has established interest in Research with Major Projects sponsored by UGC, DST and ICSSR. With UGC NET in Education, she has also specialized in both Visual Impairment and Intellectual Disability. Her commitment to the welfare of Person with Disabilities is reflected in her meticulous conduct of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI-New Delhi) Sponsored Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programmes and In-service training programmes organized to the Special Educators, Inclusive Teachers, Village Health Nurses, Urban Head Nurses and other Stake Holders. Authored five Books and written Course Materials in Special Education for Tamil Nadu Open University and Bhoj University (M.P). She is the Coordinator of the MOOC, Swayam Course on Human Growth and Development and has authored 15 educational E-Content Material. With Research Publications in SCOPUS, WOS, UGC- CARE and in Peer Reviewed Journals, her expertise is also shared in National and International Seminars and Conferences organized across the State and has also served as External Evaluation Empanelment Member for RCI Recognized Institutions.

Dr. Indu H, a dedicated academician with a strong commitment to teaching and research, has assumed the role of Registrar in-charge at the esteemed Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore from 10 th April, 2024. She has been the Professor and Dean at the School of Education. With an impressive educational background, she has obtained a M.Sc in Physics, M.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D in Education, and an MBA in Education Management.
With an extensive teaching experience spanning over 27 years, she has honed her expertise in Science Education. As a testament to her academic prowess, Dr. Indu has achieved numerous accolades throughout her career. It is worth mentioning that she has been a recipient of
National scholarship for her studies since her Class X. Notably, she secured the University First rank and was awarded a Gold medal in M.Ed from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. Dr. Indu has also contributed in different activities of the esteemed national organizations such as the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the Staff Selection Commission of India. Her exceptional ideas and contributions have been recognized, as she received the iSmith Superior award for promoting Mental Health in a
national-level competition organized by EDCARE.
She has taken on the role of Course Coordinator for "Contemporary India and Education" in the SWAYAM MOOCs-CEC program and has contributed as a content writer and presenter for SWAYAM MOOCs. In her research endeavors, Dr. Indu has guided several M.Ed, M.Phil, and Ph.D scholars, published four books, numerous book chapters, and papers in reputable journals. She has also been credited with various projects sponsored by different agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Tamilnadu State Government, and Coimbatore Corporation. Notably, she has a published patent for a unique instructional strategy specifically designed for teaching science to children with hearing impairment.

Academic and Administrative Profile
Prof. V. Bharathi Harishankar is the Vice Chancellor of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed University), Coimbatore which is a Women’s University with a NAAC grade of A++ (3.65/4 CGPA). Before assuming charge as Vice Chancellor, she was Professor of English and Founding Head of the Department of Women’s Studies, University of Madras.
Prof. Bharathi’s research interests include Postcolonial Studies, Gender Studies, Literary Theory, Translation, Web Based Pedagogy and Open Educational Resources. She has 126 publications including books, edited volumes, textbooks, articles and translations in National and International journals. She has presented invited talks in over 100 conferences, most notably at Cambridge University, UK and La Pietra Dialogues at New York University, Florence. She has successfully guided 18 M.Phil and 16 Ph.D scholars. She has completed National and International Projects for IDRC Canada, National Commission for Women, UGC, ICSSR and Erasmus +.

Prof. Bharathi’s Administrative contributions include the following:
At the University of Madras, she has been the Dean Student Affairs, Director IQAC, Director International Centre, Coordinator RUSA, Director UGC HRDC and Member Syndicate as well as the Convener of the Committee to discharge the duties of the Vice Chancellor in his absence. She was the founding Head and Coordinator of the Department of Women’s Studies and Centre for Web-Based Learning respectively. Prof. Bharathi was instrumental in setting up a Gender Lab, the first of its kind in the country, to offer online workshops on gender sensitization, in collaboration with Sutherland Global Services.
At Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women (Deemed University) her contributions as Vice Chancellor include:
- Pro-actively implementing the NEP including the registration of all incoming students inthe ABC portal, translation of textbooks into Tamil, implementing the LOCF for all courses, etc.
- Initiating the AIU supported Academic and Administrative Development Centre, the first of its kind in the country
- Successfully completing the fourth cycle of NAAC reaccreditation with A++, NIRF Rank of 98 and NBA Accreditation for two Engineering Departments
- Clearing about 500 pending Audit paras
- Forging collaborations with leading institutions such as IITM Research Park
- Establishing the Centres for Online Learning and Continuous Education Programmes
- Formulating institutional level policies and guidelines including E-Waste Management Policy and Software Installation and Usage Policy
